Take a tour of England's wine country

Tenterden, Kent

Sample some of the best wine, cider and juices in the country in Kent.

Autumn is the perfect time to visit English wine country, as the grapes are harvested and the vineyards come alive with celebration. Thanks to its rich chalk soil, Kent is bursting with award-winning vineyards, with free tours and tastings for thirsty oenophiles.

Start at Chapel Down Winery in Tenterden to sample their world-famous fizz, then make the short journey to nearby Biddenden Vineyards for delicious bubbles and ciders. If you’re salivating for more, the staggering Hush Heath Estate near Staplehurst offers stunning walks and tours, and pink fizzes that are sure to tickle your nose.

Make it a long weekend with a stay at The Milk House in Biddenden (close to Sissinghurst Castle) or stop off at Hush Heath's new pub, The Goudhurst Inn, for excellent food and more tipples.
