Animal antics at Down at the Farm

Sunderland, Tyne and Wear

Down at the Farm is one of Sunderland's most popular farms, home to a wide range of rare breed animals including giant tortoises, alpacas, raccoons, donkeys and red deer.

Take a tractor ride around this fun farm to meet the cows and you will hear the bleating of sheep, barking prairie dogs and hoots of snowy owls.

Children can pet and stroke the animals in the farmyard and there's even a chance to be a mini zoo keeper. Seasonal activities include helping to feed the spring lambs and meeting the reindeer at Christmas.

There is more than animals to entertain the family at Down at the Farm; take a bumpy Barrel train ride, jump on bouncy pillows and slide down huge inflatable slides and learn how to ride quad bikes.

It is a great place to learn about animals and also have an amazing amount of fun taking part in activities that are not part of the everyday routine, such as washing a pig!

Down at the Farm is expected to reopen soon, although there is no set date - please check the website below for more information and details.
