The Lord Mayor's Show is a street parade which dates back to 1215. A new Lord Mayor is appointed every year in November and a big public parade escorts him to his new office.

Guy Fawkes - 5 November

To remember the failing of the Gunpowder Plot, every year on the evening of the 5th of November, celebrations take place across the country. They involve fireworks displays and the building of bonfires on which "guys" are burnt.
