Windswept and enchanting
A
traditional British seaside holiday is all about classic combinations - bucket and spade, Punch and Judy, and, of course, fish and chips.
Fried in fat and dusted with salt, the quintessential English dish is never going to be as healthy as watercress soup. But life is short and nothing matters when it tastes as good as this.
Imagine the scene: the setting sun is painting the horizon a hundred shades of red, a sea wind gently buffets your face and the smell of hot vinegar rises to meet your nostrils – this is an ambience no restaurant could ever recreate.
Mablethorpe beach with sand dunes stretching for miles and pretty beach huts is the perfect backdrop for fish and chips.
