A cheaper, more chilled alternative

C

ornwall’s beaches and cute fishing villages make it a popular destination, but you don’t have to spend a fortune on somewhere to sleep.

Not when you could be bedding down at the newly restored youth hostel at Boscastle Harbour – a cheaper, more chilled alternative set in a cute Cornish valley.

Spend the day walking the nearby Coastal Path (or swatting up on spells at the local Witchcraft Museum), having a surf, hiring a kayak or flicking through the papers with a pint at the Cobweb Inn.

Then after a hot shower back at the hostel, you can plonk down on the comfy sofas and swap stories about your day over free tea and a spot of dinner.

With fresh fish available from the harbour, and even fresher eggs on offer from Linda at the local farm, dinner might be a DIY affair, but it’s definitely not a taxing one.
