Sprinkled with eccentric surprises

ith its ivy-clad exterior, the Bath Arms is everything you’d expect from a quintessentially English hotel. Step inside, however, and you’re in for some pleasant surprises.

Like the lime green and purple walls in the Flashman room, for example, or the bathroom that’s tiled with butterflies and colourful characters in the English Eccentric room. Then of course, there’s the Karma Sutra suite...

Tucked away in the ancient village of Horningsham, on the Longleat Estate in Wiltshire – home to the legendary Marquis of Bath – the Bath Arms shares some of its illustrious neighbour’s tendencies for quirky rather than quaint. But don’t get us wrong; it’s got all the luxurious touches you want from a boutique hotel – like roll top baths, DVD players, comfy beds and delicious food.

While you’re here, you’ll probably want to take a look around Longleat – it is, after all, one of England’s most beautiful estates – with the house and the famous safari park. And aside from that you’re within easy reach of Bath (Roman remains, Georgian houses, fabulous shopping) Salisbury (Medieval streets) and Stonehenge – which (we assume) needs no introduction…
