The Villainous Sheriff presents...

S

ay what you like about the Dark Ages. One thing’s for sure: those lords sure knew how to throw a party. And now, thanks to the Galleries of Justice and the Sheriff of Nottingham, you can experience your very own Medieval knees-up.

With endless courses of rich foods and vast quantities of alcohol, medieval feasts are a dietician’s worst nightmare. Thankfully, the menu on offer today is more refined. So you can forget about tucking into pigeon pie or wild boar, and instead prepare to experience three courses each infused with mouth-watering medieval herbs. There’s even a vegetarian option; something that might well have seen you beheaded in the tenth century.

The evening’s themed festivities take place in the grand banqueting hall of the Galleries of Justice. Located on the site of a courthouse and county jail, and in the shadow of Nottingham castle, there’s no better place to bring the period to life.

Minstrels are on hand to provide music, and a whole host of interactive entertainment helps ensure the raucous atmosphere of a historic banquet is recreated. And if you still don’t feel like you’ve travelled back in time, then hire a Medieval costume to really complete the look.
