Something different in North Yorkshire

alk into this place and you might be expecting to see David Bowie in a dodgy wig. With its endless labyrinths, strange passages and doors that go nowhere, the Forbidden Corner is rather like the 1986 film that featured Bowie as the goblin king, Jareth. Luckily there’s no time limit to complete it – and no-one’s going to steal your baby if you don’t.
While they say it’s aimed at youngsters, we reckon you’ll have a hard time containing your own excitement, dashing about following clues that will leave you part amazed, part lost – and part wondering which tunnel swallowed your friend.
Originally built as a private folly by Mr C.R, Armstrong (who obviously had a lot of time on his hands), this Yorkshire attraction is now open to the public as part of the equally impressive Tupgill Park – where you’ll also find a herb garden, fish temple and a herd of red deer running about.
