Home to the Marquess of Bath and some furry friends

T

o be honest it’s difficult to know where to start with this place. There’s the Elizabethan country house, landscaped parkland, a mind-boggling maze, an adventure castle – and of course the wildlife park.

If you’re here with the kids we’d put money on it that it’s the lions and tigers that come out on top. After all, it’s pretty cool being able to sit in your car and see big cats wandering the Wiltshire countryside (don’t worry, there is a safety fence).

Aside from these kings of the jungle you’ll see giraffes, zebra, llamas, camels and much more as you cruise through the park.

If you see the monkeys while you’re here, make sure you keep those windows shut; the cheeky little blighters will have your iPhone out of your hands before you can say ‘cheese’.

Another thing you should definitely do is take a trip on the Safari Boat, past Gorilla Island – which is home to the Nico, world’s third oldest silverback. On a slightly more delicate note, you can also wander through the butterfly garden, take a ride on the steam train and explore the Postman Pat village. Oh yes, Longleat delivers, alright… (sorry, we couldn’t resist)
