re-Raphaelite artists William Morris and Dante Gabriel Rossetti chose Worcestershire’s Gothic Broadway Tower as their holiday retreat. As you do.

Nowadays, though, it’s one of the best places to see the rolling Cotswold countryside in all its glory. On a clear day you can see for over 62 miles and spot 16 counties from the tower’s wind-swept battlements – thanks to it being 1024 feet above sea level.

Aside from er, county-counting, there’s plenty of other things to do. Like check out the exhibitions inside, or go for a stroll in the surrounding grounds.

With its turrets, stone gargoyles and roaming wild deer, the tower is the setting for a magical Brothers Grimm fairytale – but without the beautiful princess or a knight in shining armour.
