ave you ever encountered a pig the size of a shoe – or seen ducks rounding up sheep?
No we’re not describing the latest Beatrix Potter remake, these are just a few of the bonkers things you’ll encounter on a weekend dedicated to all creatures great and small.
Start off at The Big Sheep, near Bideford (home to those sheep-worrying puddle-ducks), where the kids can feed orphaned lambs from a bottle while giving them a good stroke. Meanwhile, outside there’s sheep racing (yes really), horse whispering and other strange capers going on.
Take a trip to Pennywell Farm the next day and things get even cuter – or weirder, depending on how you look at it. This award-winning activity centre near Buckfastleigh has falconry displays, a range of rides – and of course those little pigs.
Yes, we know; it’s ridiculous to get all soppy over animals – but seriously, you should see them.
