Stunning views and fresh sea air

W

e’re not sure if you’ll spot any of Dame Vera Lynn’s ‘bluebirds’, but even so, the view from your tent at Kingsdown Camping Centre is pretty spectacular.

Each morning you can sit outside and eat your cereal while watching the sunlight glinting off the English Channel; on a clear day you can even see all the way across to France.

Closer to home, you’ll hear migrating birds calling to each other overhead, and after breakfast, why not take a short walk down to the shingle beach for a quick dip (temperature-depending, of course).

If you’re not one for getting wet, there are numerous coastal footpaths to explore – plus the campsite’s activity trail, if you fancy something more strenuous.

The cycling’s rather good here, too, so why not hop on your bike and take the purpose-built cycle path along the beach to Deal for some fish and chips – or finish the day at Kingsdown with a pint at the Zetland Arms, by the beach.
