Manchester International Festival
he world’s first festival of original, new work and special events.
Launched in 2007 as a biennial, artist-led, commissioning Festival, presenting work from across the spectrum of performing and visual arts and popular culture, it attracts 75% of its audience from Greater Manchester and 25% from the rest of the UK and abroad.
MIF13 (4 – 21 July) includes the world premières of Massive Attack v Adam Curtis, Kenneth Branagh and Rob Ashford’s Macbeth, Maxine Peake in The Masque of Anarchy and Robert Wilson’s The Old Woman featuring Mikhail Baryshnikov and Willem Dafoe, plus work for young people.
