Place of Interest Quality Assurance Scheme (PIQAS)

Twice a year VisitEngland commissions quality assessments on various places of interest, from medieval churches to public art,  such as the wonderful  Dream sculpture in St Helens. These assessments take place as part of the Place of Interest Quality Assurance Scheme (PIQAS). 

How are PIQAS sites assessed?

A site assessed under the PIQAS scheme will receive a visit from an independent Assessor who will mirror the visit you may take. The Assessor will start right from the beginning – the point when you do your research on where to go, is the point the Assessor begins too. The Assessor will check websites, leaflets and even Facebook to see just how easy it is to find out basic information such as postcodes for Sat Nav, parking arrangements and opening times.

The findings from each assessment are fed back to the management team so they are able to constantly improve the experience for you, the visitor.

How will I know if they’re Quality Assured?

VisitEngland’s Quality Rose Marque should be clearly displayed on the website and on site at the Place of Interest.
