You’ll have an opportunity to be part of the Beacon lighting ceremony within Birdoswald Roman Fort on Hadrian’s Wall.
You’ll be based at the 4* gold award winning Common House Farm Cottages a stone’s throw from Hadrian’s Wall, and have the opportunity to explore the World Heritage site aboard the AD122 Hadrian’s Wall Country Bus. The prize includes four nights for two people in ’The Bothy’ on a self catering basis at the gold awarded Common House Farm self catering cottages, just 5 minutes from Hadrian’s Wall in the beautiful countryside of Hadrian’s Wall Country. Common House Farm has its own wind turbines and bio mass boiler, and is a Gold Award wining Green Tourism Business. All cottages are environmentally friendly, and offer comfy accommodation, stunning views and access to some of the country’s best walking landscape of Hadrian’s Wall.
The prize also includes exclusive access to the new Roman Frontier Gallery at Carlisle’s Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery , with a personalised curatorial tour illustrating the impact the Romans had on life in Britain and to whet the appetite for an exploration of the 73-mile-long structure that marked the northern limits of the Roman empire. Visitor attraction passes allowing unlimited access to all other sites along Hadrian’s Wall (which is itself a World Heritage Site), including the major forts and the museums and castles are also included.
