One of England’s greatest engineers, Brunel’s fierce ambition and ingenuity broke from designing civil engineering masterpieces and switched to ships. In the process he created the world’s longest ship and first ‘luxury liner’, the ss Great Britain in 1843.

This incredible 322-foot piece of history is now back in Bristol dock and open to business event organisers. As a truly extraordinary venue it is available for conferences, lectures and other business occasions.

Event spaces on board are flexible. Get stunning waterfront views from the Weather Deck or enjoy the light and invigorating Promenade Deck, the sumptuous First Class Dining Saloon and Hayward Saloon with bar and dance floor.

Typical dinner events include a formal three-course dinner with welcome drinks and wine for up to 100 delegates. Match it with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of engineering innovation in the Archive Vault, displaying diaries and letters of those travelling on ss Great Britain.
