Royal Armouries
Leeds, West Yorkshire
The Royal Armouries takes you on a journey through 3,000 years of military history.
Venues don’t get more unusual than this. With a collection of 70,000 objects dating from the early Middle Ages to present day, there’s plenty to talk about at The Royal Armouries.
Unique gala dinners can be held amongst the armour and weapons on show, ranging from the Tudor period, to intricate oriental designs. Look out for the only existing suit of armour built for an elephant and even the horned helmet that belonged to King Henry VIII.
Set in a £350million waterfront development, surrounded by bars and restaurants, the museum and attached New Dock Hall provide striking venue options. Halls, suites, a theatre, a gallery and a cinema are on hand for events of 20 to 1,500 people. Conveniently, there are 850 hotel rooms within five minutes’ walk.
